I’ve had this jacket for a year, bought on the back of my excellent experiences with 20 year old Buffalo tops and salopettes. It’s smart, so comfortable and hacks it in serious weather. I use it to chuck on over a t-shirt and also when I coach.

After 17 years in a special 6, i bought the hooded belay for a smarter looking works jacket. I personally find the cut to be a little bit too short, however, performance is outstanding. Recently trekked up Ben Nevis in -18 wind chill. Had just a helly hansen underneath and was warm as toast all the way.

We’ll I’ve had this jacket for a while now, at least two years. I bought it to replace my mountain shirt but with a full length zip and attached hood it’s more flexible for my needs. I use it everyday throughout the winter months for work. I’m an arborist. This is one hard wearing piece of kit. I regularly run ropes over it. It doesn’t seem to snag on branches. The zips are tough. As long as I wear something sensible underneath I can wear it without waterproofs in the worst of weather. I stay warm even when wet. Then it drys mega quick overnight ready for the next days weather assault. It would be great if you could make these jackets fluorescent with reflective banding suitable for working on the roads and maybe even breakout into the workwear market. I really do live in this throughout the winter months. Simple classic design that works. One of the best understated piece of kit I own.

  4. Sebastian Shelton says:

Possibly the most underrated item in the Buffalo range. The “bomber” style cut give it a timeless classic look which together with the standard Buffalo attributes makes it a great all rounder for 6 months of the year. A seriously practical outdoor jacket which isn’t out of place down the pub or in Tesco.
