Performance-wise, I’ve used this on several occasions in the Peak District, in snow, down to ~-10 Centigrade, and 60-70mph winds, and some use in Halifax, Nova Scotia, down to ~-20 Centigrade and biting, 30-40mph coastal winds. In each case, the smock/trouser combo is pretty much ‘bombproof’, feeling like a sanctuary against the forces of nature. When the going gets tough, the side zips/vents allow complete venting if worn as recommended, (next to skin). The level of venting is however modifiable by varying the zipper position.

I personally sweat considerably when active, but begin to freeze quickly when inactive, as a direct result of this. As such, if active, I highly recommend the Special Six for temperatures below ~5 Centigrade if windchill is present and/or you are relatively inactive, or for activities below 0 Centigrade for anything but the highest activity levels.

    An awesome product, thanks Buffalo!

Bought a pair of these for winter dog walking and skiing in the French Alps. Only for use on the coldest of winter days in the UK, but perfect for skiing. Didn’t get cold at any point in contrast to some of my friends who had purchased considerably more expensive ski wear!

I thought these might be too warm for me as I easily run hot / sweat when active, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they have kept me even under exertion. Teamed up with an Active shirt (and DP hood) I have loved being out in the cold, windy and wet weather we have been having recently. Very happy with my purchase.

I’ve had a pair of Teclite Trousers for a while now and love them. As I was doing a navigation course in Snowdonia at the beginning of this month, (Dec 2019), and decided to match these Special Six Trousers to my Active Shirt, as the weather forecast wasn’t good! I’m so glad I did. Driving rain and winds in excess of 50 MPH were not a problem for my Buffalo gear. These trousers kept my legs warm and I never had a single problem. They are very comfy to wear and I felt so confident in the worst weather. I never wear anything else but Buffalo Products when outside. Not once have they let me down. If you walk, or work, outside in The UK, you don’t need anything else!
