Men’s Big Face Shirt

Developed from the award winning Mountain Shirt specifically for climbing.

There is more shoulder room, sleeves are longer and the body shaped to fasten between the legs to lessen ‘ride up’ when reaching for that evasive hold. The pockets are positioned higher than on the Mountain Shirt so they can be used even when wearing a harness. Ideal for climbing, mountain biking and canoeing, or when you need that extra protection against severe weather.

This garment works most efficiently when worn next to the skin

Sizing is important as the shirt should be close fitting without being restrictive.

  1. John Crewe says:

Still got and use regularly my wife’s 20 year old Big Face shirt which she bought all those years ago to climb McKinley. It’s been through some serious use and is still going strong. It’s faded, has a couple of small tears – of course it has, it’s old. But it still performs just like any new Buffalo. It’s what got me into using Buffalo gear and I hardly wear anything else these days.

  2. DAVID says:

Still have my old light blue big face shirt, the best piece of mountain clothing ever invented, glad to know they are still being made in case I need any spares – mine is about 1990s

  3. Phil Nuttall says:

I’ve had mine for about 15 years now. It’s still in great condition.
I tend to wear it through the winter months only as it’s too warm when active (when zipped-up). It’s cosy, comforting and still a bargain considering how long these things last!
